Your Responsibilities
• Book accounting documents to ensure all transactions are properly recorded, including analytical accounting information.
• Assist in maintenance, processing, and production of month/year end close processes (accruals, reclassifications, adjustments, etc).
• Prepare monthly financial reports to consolidation on a monthly and quarterly basis.
• Conduct monthly balance sheet and P&L reviews and reconciliations.
• Record and reconcile bank transactions.
• Maintain and monitor fixed asset transactions and depreciation postings.
• Ensure intercompany transactions are recorded, reconciled, and settled properly.
• Revaluate foreign currency (FX) transactions.
• Collaborate closely with AP, AR, Treasury, and Controlling teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of data.
• Collaborate with external accounting providers regarding statutory requirements, especially VAT and other tax-related filings.
• Collaborate with external payroll service providers and tax consultants.
• Assist in implementing new accounting tools and process improvements.
• Manage and support the accounting team.

Education & Certification
• Degree and/or Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Management.
• Certified Accountant by the Portuguese Order of Certified Accountants is a plus.
Experience & Technical Skills
• 5+ years of experience in General Ledger accounting, ideally in a multinational or Shared Services environment.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, formulas, financial modelling).
Language & Soft Skills
• Fluent in English (mandatory); German is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to accuracy and deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate with teams across multiple geographical locations.
• Proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement.
